Recognising the workforce demand these posts (Grade 9) are enhanced with a market rate pay supplement in excess of the top of the substantive grade of up to £46,731.  An annual review will take place which could reduce, increased or removed the enhancement subject to market conditions.

We are looking for an Environmental Health professional  to work within the food team at Hull City Council. The starting salary point for the successful candidate will depend on their experience within environmental health but as a minimum the successful candidate must hold a degree (MSc. or BSc. (Hons) Degree or Diploma) in Environmental Health within 6 months from the time of appointment (see attached Job Description for more information).

If you would like to be part of a busy food team working with a wide variety of commercial and retail food businesses then this opportunity may be just the challenge you are looking for.  Your role will be focussed on ensuring that excellent regulatory and advisory services are provided for the food businesses based within our City. You will be closely involved with the usual environmental health functions of infectious diseases work, food complaints, advice to new food businesses, and inspection of food premises. 

The city has a number of approved premises and our work also involves the issue of export certificates for businesses who need this service.  You will also give health and safety advice in food businesses.

You will be able to demonstrate and evidence competencies relating to the inspection of high-risk food premises. As an experienced Environmental Health professional you can look forward to working with a dedicated team of officers who strive to protect the community of Hull, and promote a high level of compliance within our businesses.
