Location: Burton Upon Trent

The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Environmental Health Officer to join our Environmental Health Team.

The postholder will be responsible for a wide range of duties that include ensuring compliance against food safety, health and safety, housing standards and public health legislation.

We encourage applications from newly qualified graduates and will provide support and training whilst you complete the training elements to gain certification.

This is a Graded Post and the starting salary will be subject to qualifications and level of experience. 

Key Requirements

You must have a Bsc/Msc in Environmental Health and be a qualified Environmental Health Officer registered by the Environmental Health Registration Board or working towards qualification

You should have practical experience of working within Environmental Health with a proven track record in Food, Housing or Health and Safety and experience of managing complaints informally and formally.

Skills & Experience

You must be able to work both autonomously and as part of a team. You should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to analyse and interpret legislation and enforce it in a balanced way. The successful applicant should also possess the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
