Salary: Grade 11 (£48710-£51802) + Standby Duty Allowance + Essential Car Allowance + Local Government Pension + Uniform.

Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week, may include out-of-hours working, including weekends and public holidays.

The Authority is a Joint Board funded by three local councils.  The thriving and expanding Humber ports form the largest ports complex in the UK. Port Health has a high profile, and the work is challenging and rewarding.

We seek a highly motivated, reliable and professional EHP to provide operational leadership to a multi-functional team responsible for delivering a broad spectrum of environmental health functions throughout our extensive port health district including the delivery of import controls at two Border Control Posts.

This is a key senior post, and you will be a qualified and registered EHP and a proven team leader, preferably with recent high-level relevant port health experience.

Your day-to-day duties will include ensuring that our multi-functional operational team delivers the Authority’s statutory functions including ship and premises inspections, food safety and imported food controls, infectious disease, civil contingencies and pollution control.

The post holder must be flexible, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and capable of prioritising and managing the many daily demands of the service.

This is an exceptional opportunity for the right person to thrive in a varied and challenging role as part of a dynamic and expanding team. The role requires close attention to detail and extensive use of IT systems including Microsoft 365, IPAFFS, PHILIS and Destin8.

For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Sally Johnson, Chief Port Health Inspector on the number below.
