We are looking to recruit an Environmental Health Officer to the Neighbourhood Team within Bassetlaw District Council’s Environmental Health Team.

This role will primarily be responsible for investigating general neighbourhood team complaints relating to a wide range of topics including noise, statutory nuisance, bonfires, artificial light, odour, fly tipping and littering.

Duties range from initial contact with complainants, investigations, serving notices and taking enforcement action where necessary.

The right candidate will be a self-motivated team player with the ability to prioritise and manage their own workload, have good communication skills, and be able to keep accurate records.

The post holder will need to have full driving licence and their own vehicle as travelling around the district is a requirement of the post.

We will value your contributions, give you access to a free healthcare cash plan and benefits, offer a very generous 25-31 days holiday package (rising incrementally each year) plus public/bank holidays, and give you the option to purchase additional annual leave tax-free. We will double your monthly pension contributions and provide the option to join our shared cost AVC scheme, offer discounted car parking of around £4 per month, and family friendly policies. We also offer hybrid working arrangements of partial home/office working.

We value the diversity of our people and actively encourage applications from all sections of the community. We maintain fair and well thought out recruitment processes at every stage to make sure that everyone is treated equally.
