A Welsh local authority is seeking a fully qualified Food Standards Officer to carry out inspections in the area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing other Trading Standards Officers in the absence of the Senior Trading Standards Officer.
- Delivering food standards interventions at food businesses and provide advice.
- To investigate and report on breaches of relevant Trading Standards legislation in accordance with the Council’s Enforcement Policy.
- Prepare the necessary case material for legal proceedings, attend and where necessary give evidence in Magistrates or Crown Court.
- To undertake the duties required by legislation to be performed by a Weights and Measures Inspector in order to assist the Council in meeting its statutory obligations.
Essential Requirements:
- You will need to have an appropriate Food Standards qualification as listed in The Food Law Code of Practice (Wales).
- Suitable experience and evidence of competency assessment against the Competency Framework.
Contract Details
- Duration: 6 months
- Rate: £55-60 per hour (Umbrella)
- Start Date: Immediate
- Hybrid
