What will you be doing?

• As part of our professional team you will be working individually and as part of a team to improve the health and wellbeing of the residents, visitors and workers in East Hertfordshire.
• Your work will involve liaising with a range of individuals and businesses to investigate complaints, inspect premises and ensure compliance with applicable legislation.
• You will support senior officers and members with technical enquiries, including representing the team at committee meetings and external meetings.
• Where appropriate you will take the lead on instigating a range of enforcement actions, including prosecutions.  

About you

As an ideal candidate, you will have:

• A relevant qualification or experience within the discipline applied for and a working knowledge of the legislation and regulations relating to those areas.
• The ability to deal with challenging situations using tact and discretion.
• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to work without supervision, prioritise work to meet deadlines.
• Excellent written skills, with the ability to write schedules of work, summarise accurately and convey complex information.
