Winchester City Council is seeking a dedicated Senior Private Sector Housing Officer to join our esteemed Strategic Housing Service. This role presents a unique opportunity to contribute towards enhancing housing conditions across the district and making a tangible difference within the community. As our ideal candidate, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and quality of private sector housing while actively engaging with the new duties outlined in the Renters Rights Bill.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing housing standards and enforcement actions
• Regulation of Houses in Multiple Occupation
• Handling enquiries related to housing conditions
• Supporting energy efficiency initiatives
• Supporting the disabled facilities grants team when needed
• Inspection and Licensing of Mobile Home Parks
• Line management of 2 team members

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in private sector housing is essential
• Genuine passion for improving housing standards
• Team player with strong communication skills
