In Herefordshire Council we have an exciting opportunity for two Environmental Health professionals to join our newly merged Pollution & Community Protection Team, to deliver a range of community protection duties - including statutory nuisance, drainage, pests, accumulations, public health funerals, licensing consultations, antisocial behaviour, duty of care issues and fly-tipping. Assist with PPC inspections and planning consultation matters and other Environmental Health functions if required. All this within the beautiful, historic county of Herefordshire located in the heart of the Marches on the Welsh Boarder, with a wealth of unspoilt countryside, distinctive heritage, and lively and attractive market towns with Hereford City at its heart. The rural and urban nature of the County ensures a varied, interesting and diverse working day, providing a fantastic opportunity to gain, and work with, a wide range of environmental health skills.
The Role
Principal Officer - Pollution and Community Protection Team. We are looking for an enthusiastic, customer focused and motivated team player who has good organisational, leadership and problem-solving skills with an interest in and knowledge of the topics involved. The successful candidates will possess a relevant Environmental Health qualification accredited by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) and hold the Environmental Health Registration Board (EHRB) Certificate of Registration in Environmental Health (or equivalent).
EHO (Graduate) – Pollution and Community Protection Team. We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, team player who is customer focused with good organisational and problem solving skills with an interest in and knowledge of the topics involved. The successful candidates will possess a relevant qualification in Environmental Health to degree standard or equivalent, have or be working towards EHRB certificate of registration or equivalent. We would also be willing to consider applications from final year Environmental Health students or those requiring practical experience.
