We have an excellent opportunity for a qualified Food and Safety Officer to join our busy professional and friendly Food and Safety Team.
As a Food and Safety Officer, we are offering a unique opportunity to work across our socially and economically diverse Borough, delivering the full range of regulatory duties through a wide range of food and health and safety issues: from food hygiene and standards interventions, infectious disease and accident investigations to skin piercing registrations and imported food inspection at Birmingham Airport.
To be successful in this demanding but satisfying role, you will hold a relevant Environmental Health qualification and have experience in providing advice and guidance on regulatory and enforcement issues, as well as proven knowledge of legal processes and effective evidence gathering. You must be experienced in carrying out food hygiene inspections and investigations including the preparation of reports for formal action and the service of statutory notices.
We know that our employees want to do more than just work, and so we encourage good work-life balance by offering a range of flexible working options; this is further supplemented by an extensive wellbeing offer, as well as a range of other benefits including ongoing personal development, staff discounts and access to the Local Government Pension Scheme.
The transition to smarter working has provided us with the opportunity for a hybrid working model which allows a balance between home working and time in the office. This role is based in Solihull Town Centre and as an essential car user you will be required to work and attend meetings within the borough or at other locations within the West Midlands region.
We are a small but well-established team who work well together. If you are driven and enjoy a varied and challenging workload, we would love to hear from you.
