Environmental Health Officer/Senior Environmental Health Officer
We are seeking a highly motivated Environmental Health Officer to join our dynamic and enthusiastic Environmental Safety and Health team.
The successful candidate will be a self-motivated team player with strong communication skills and the ability to prioritise their own workload. A full driving licence and access to their own vehicle will be necessary as travelling around the borough is a requirement of the post.
Applications from students qualifying this year, with an undertaking to become Registered by the Environmental Health Registration Board (EHRB) will be considered.
The team is a busy, friendly and professional team carrying out a range of Environmental Health work covering Pollution Control, Statutory Nuisance (from commercial and industrial premises), Animal Health & Welfare, Air Quality and Health & Safety. The team are also consultees for planning applications and under The Licensing Act 2003. There will be opportunity to develop your skills and experience, and this will be supported and encouraged.
We offer flexible working arrangements and a generous leave entitlement of 30 days (excluding bank holidays) rising to 34 days with 5 years continuous service.
The role
Hours: 37 per week
Salary: Grade 9 –10 : £36,648 - £43,421 (depending on experience)
Location: 4 Ednam Road, Dudley, DY1 1HL. (Currently this position has a mixture of home, office and district working).
Although most work is undertaken in core office hours you will be expected to work flexibly and routinely outside of core office hours in order to ensure service delivery.
