Experience the extraordinary with a move to Folkestone & Hythe District Council (F&HDC).
•    Fast-track your career development by working on a range of unique challenges and opportunities.
•    Enjoy the beautiful coastline and countryside of the Folkestone and Hythe district, with the creative cosmopolitan town of Folkestone only 53 minutes from central London by high speed rail.
•    Take advantage of a workplace that truly embraces and encourages hybrid working to achieve an enviable work/life balance.
•    At F&HDC our mission is to invest for the next generation and deliver more of what matters.

This role focuses on the delivery of statutory food safety and health and safety in the workplace functions. The role of the Environmental Health team is to protect and enhance public health and the environment as required by statute and the policies of Central Government and the Council. This includes taking appropriate enforcement action as required.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role helping us deliver our goals; making a difference to our community.

In order to be successful you will need to be an experienced Environmental Health Officer with registration to the Environmental Health Registration Board (EHRB). You’ll also have the ability to organise and prioritise work effectively in order to meet deadlines and maintain high quality of services at all times. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships within the team and the wider organisation are essential.

Above all else, if you’re a team player with the flexibility, initiative and drive to not only contribute to the success of our dedicated Environmental Health team but to the council as a whole, then we want to hear from you.

Our modern offices are based in the heart of Folkestone, with easy access to transport links, local shops and the beach. In addition we also offer working from home, corporate membership and reward schemes, Employee Assistance Programme, and access to the Local Government Pension Scheme.

This role will require travelling throughout the district and visiting premises at evenings and weekends.

For an informal discussion about this role please contact Andrew Rush (Chief Officer – Regulatory & Community Services) on 01303 853271 or email andrew.rush@folkestone-hythe.gov.uk
