About the role…
As a Senior Officer in the Environmental Regulatory Sector, you will manage and execute statutory duties related to private sector housing, caravan and campsite licensing and public health. Your role will involve ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, conducting inspections, and address public health concerns. This role requires a strong understanding of housing standards, public health principles, and environmental regulations along with excellent leadership and communication skills.

Environmental Health professionals in the West Oxfordshire District will have a significant impact on local communities by improving standards in Private Sector Housing and caravan camp site Licensing. You’ll provide technical expertise, lead on investigations and when necessary, appear and give evidence in court and tribunal.
This position offers family- friendly flexibility, including the ability to work from home and in the field. The successful candidate will be a strong team player with excellent communication skills, self-motivated and proactive.
You will need…
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, or related degree/relevant experience.
- Experience in environmental regulation, housing standards, or public health.
- Comprehensive knowledge of housing regulations, public health laws, and environmental standards.
- Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant certifications such as CIH, or equivalent, are desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and regulatory software.
