Housing and Pollution Control Officer

Sharper Consulting Services are working with our client in Hertfordshire in their search for a new Officer to working in their Residential team on a temporary basis for (approximately 3 months Initially).

Duties 

• Investigation and response to complaints in relation to allegations of statutory nuisance and housing standards.
• Carry out HMO licensing, HHSRS inspections and enforcement duties in relation to landlords and tenants to ensure improvements to the private rented sector. 
• Carry out the Council's enforcement responsibilities under the Environmental Protection Act 1990

Whilst some work can be undertaken remotely, this is a front line role which will require to you to be on district but there is remote working available 2/3 days per week.

Knowledge and Experience 

• HHSRS certificate or BSc/MSc in Environmental Health 
• Experience working in a local authority setting undertaking enforcement action
• Experience working in Environmental Protection and Private Sector Housing
