As an Officer with delegated authority and competency, you will be carrying out a programme of proactive and reactive functions which will contribute to ensuring compliance with food hygiene legislation within the Borough.
Key Responsibilities
Using delegated powers and competency to ensure compliance with food hygiene legislation so that the standards of food hygiene are maintained in businesses, for the benefit of residents, visitors and those coming into the Borough for their employment. Environmental Health Officers are required to take on the additional role of formal closures of food businesses and the approval of premises under 853/2004.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have one or more of the following qualifications:
- A professional qualification of competence to undertake food hygiene inspections e.g.: Higher National Certificate in Food Inspection
- Higher level specialist qualification relevant to Food Safety duties. Including, Diploma/Degree in Environmental Health or equivalent food /environmental related diploma or degree course.
- Qualification to act as an Environmental Health Officer
- Maintenance and proof of professional requirements regarding Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
- Candidates who are working towards Chartered Status will be considered and if successful, will be supported through that process.
Food Safety Officer salary range, depending on qualifications and experience - £ 37,026 - £43,701
Environmental Health Officer salary range depending on qualification £44,691 - £47,736

- Supporting other Teams
