Lead Community Protection Officer
Community Protection Team
(PO3 plus an incremental value award of £2,472 per annum) Permanent
Our Community Protection Team is seeking to recruit a new Lead Community Protection Officer on a permanent basis here at the Royal Borough of Greenwich.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will work alongside one other Lead Officer to supervise and support 8 Officers in the day-to-day investigation of cases of Anti-Social Behaviour, Noise and Statutory Nuisance. We are looking for individuals with experience of case management, enforcement, strong problem-solving skills and a 'can-do' attitude.
As a Lead Officer you will be expected to manage your own case load, help and advise officers with more complex cases, represent the team at panel meetings and where required, deputise for the Operations Manager.
As a professional officer you will take, where necessary, appropriate and proportionate enforcement action in accordance with relevant legislative provisions and contribute towards the relevant missions within the 'Our Greenwich' plan towards making the borough a safe place to be. You will work closely with other departments and agencies such as the Police through our Integrated Enforcement approach and work to resolve issues ranging from neighbour disputes to large scale unlicenced music events.
You will be required to work flexibly, including nights and weekends carrying out both reactive and proactive visits and will be seen as a front-line responder representing the Council.
Successful candidates will have strong written and verbal communication skills and a customer-centered, methodical approach to investigation procedures and problem solving. You will be able to carry out monitoring and inspections and will have an awareness of personal safety precautions.
Applicants must possess a full valid driving license and be able to provide daily use of a vehicle suitable for Council business.
Royal Borough of Greenwich reserves the right to close any vacancy earlier than the advertised closing date should there be a high volume of applications received.
