Salary: £32,076 - £34,834 per annum, pro rata (£16.63 - £18.06 per hour)/£35,745 - £38,223 per annum, pro rata (£18.53 - £19.81 per hour) - Pay Award Pending

About the Team:
Covering Bath, Keynsham, Midsomer Norton, Radstock and a large rural area, B&NES Council has around 84,000 dwellings including 19,000 in the private rented sector.
We are seeking a highly motivated Environmental Health Officer to join the Housing Standards Team.
About the Role:
The roles are based around carryout programmed inspections of residential dwellings including Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs) and single household dwellings. The investigation of complaints about housing conditions and enforcement follow-up after inspections according to our enforcement policy will be required.

About You:
Applicants for the EHO roles will need to be qualified or unqualified Environmental Health Officers and show that they meet the requirements of the EHO person specification which include:
• A degree or MSc in Environmental Health or equivalent
• An understanding of housing law, particularly assessment and enforcement of the Housing Act 2004 in relation to the Housing Health and Safety Rating System and Houses in Multiple Occupation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• High levels of commitment, flexibility and enthusiasm
