Who We Are Looking For:
We are looking for someone who has an Environmental Health (or associated) degree or Diploma in Environmental Health who can work independently and as part of a team who thrives in an ever-changing environment.
The successful candidate would have knowledge in broader housing matters and be able to interpret knowledge gained through that interest to benefit the department.
We encourage and support Chartered Environmental Health Practitioners and currently pay for annual membership of the CIEH.

The Role & Responsibilities:
Private Sector Housing (PSH) is part of the wider Port Health & Environmental Service department at Dover District Council. We are a small friendly team who very much work together to achieve our goals and aspire to deliver the highest standards in the private rented sector. This includes HMO and caravan licencing, complaints of poor housing, and disabled facilities grants administration.
We are looking for an experienced qualified Environmental Health Officer to work within the team. The successful applicant would use their experience to provide technical advice and support to other team members.

What you need to know:
The post holder must be able to undertake site inspections, some located in rural areas, therefore access to your own vehicle is required. You need to have the ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the business including occasional working outside core business hours as required.
