About this opportunity:

Environmental Health is part of the Public Health and Communities Directorate and have officers based in Carlisle, Workington and Whitehaven and are looking to recruit Environmental Health Officers for our food safety and environmental protection and housing teams. The housing work includes the Healthy Homes pilot funded through DLUHC based in Whitehaven or Workington.

Who we’re looking for:

Environmental Health Officer:

The suitable candidates for these roles will need an environmental health qualification and be registered, and for food safety must meet competency requirements along with inspection and investigation experience. Post graduate qualifications, and experience of enforcement, outbreak and complex investigations is an advantage.

Technical Officer:

The suitable candidates for these roles will need to have an understanding of environmental health, experience of working within a local government and ideally some understanding of local government enforcement. Experience of carrying out inspections and investigations is also an advantage.

The candidate must also have a driving licence and transport, a good understanding of working with external partners and experience of being part of multi-disciplinary team.
