12 Months Fixed Term Contract / Secondment Opportunity (Maternity Cover).

We are looking for a Manager, Team Leader, or an Officer at Principal level with Environmental Health experience to provide one-year fixed term contract maternity cover. The Environmental Health Team have entered an exciting period with extra investment, which has enabled the EH team to grow their food law compliance following the pressures of COVID19, with the introduction of a new cloud-based database system that provides new opportunities and flexible ways of working as well as embarking on growing the team.

Hackney has over 3600 food businesses with 60 plus applications for new business registrations being received each month. This is a very busy team covering the full range of food safety & standards, health & safety, and infectious disease investigations. If you have drive, energy, and enthusiasm this is the place for you.

You will be jointly responsible for the management of day-to-day service delivery to ensure the challenging remit is met and will manage the performance of the team as well as provide detailed progress reports on the service plan. You will be provided with training, support, and the ability to grow in terms of the experiences you will gain from working in an inner London local authority.

To hold an appropriately approved academic qualification – an MSc, BSc (Hons) or Diploma in Environmental Health, Evidence of continuing professional development as required by the FSA FLCoP and demonstrable evidence of meeting the Food Law Code of Practice Competency Framework.
