Our local authority client, based in Surrey are looking to appoint an experienced Private Sector Housing Team Leader or a very experienced officer. The team currently consists of 1x administrator, 1 PSH Officer, 1 PSH Enforcement Officer (vacant). Daily tasks will also include responding to complaints regarding property disrepair or poor housing conditions e.g. overcrowding, undertaking inspections and taking enforcement action against owners and landlords in line with legislation and the Council's policy, as appropriate.
HMO Duties:
* To ensure that all HMOs are inspected with a risk based approach, in line with published Enforcement Policy and service plans.
* To implement and administer HMO Licensing in the Borough.
* To issue appropriate statutory notices as appropriate.
* To liaise with Surrey Fire & Rescue Service in regard to inspections and action in respect of 'high risk' HMOs.
A full JD is available upon request.

This role as mentioned above requires either an experienced Environmental Health Housing Officer or someone who is already an established team Leader within this field. At the very least you must also hold the HHSRS certification.

This is a 3 month contract starting ASAP. the current hours are 22hrs per week so this is a part time role, hybrid working is available and client is flexible with his. Rates will start at £48 and can be negotiated
