About the role

Are you an experienced, motivated and knowledgeable Environmental Health Officer, looking to develop your career?

Join our small team on the Isle of Man, where you will have opportunities to develop your knowledge and skills in a broad range of Environmental Health disciplines.

You will be conducting a wide range of environmental health functions across our beautiful Island, supporting our industry and community through advice and guidance and protecting the public and our environment.

 Paid annual subscription to the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health

 Annual leave starting from 21 days, a Privilege Day and 10 Bank Holidays; your annual leave will increase after your first year and again after your third year. Local Authority ‘continuous service’ years will be honoured in respect of annual leave allocation.

 A flexi-time scheme where you can accrue additional time worked to take as leave.

Subject to meeting eligibility criteria, the IOM Public Service offers two pension arrangements the Isle of Man Government Unified Scheme 2011 or the Isle of Man Government Defined Contribution (DC) Arrangement.

National Insurance Holiday scheme which allows for a one-off refund of national insurance deducted in the first year, subject to qualifying conditions.

 Access to the Learning, Education and Development training facility, which is exclusively for Public Service employees, to keep on top of your continuous professional development.

 Discounted access to the NSC gym and island swimming pools as well as 1-to-1 support programmes and exercise classes with qualified instructors.

 Free access to the Isle of Man Government Staff Welfare Service which offers professional counselling, emotional support and sign-posting on a wide range of issues.

 Ability to apply for an unpaid career break after 3 years’ service.

 Access to the Isle of Man Public Service Cycle to Work scheme after your first year of employment.

 Free car parking and access to a pool vehicle for work purposes.

You’ll be based at Thie Slieau Whallian, an award-winning sustainable building offering an amazing office workspace and outdoor area you can enjoy during your lunch break.

A relocation package of up to £10,000 based on receipts is available for this role.
