Team Leader Home Improvements
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time
Salary: £52,116 - £55,155 per annum
Ref: RQ001828
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and committed individual to lead and manage the Home Improvements Team. We need someone who has a drive to help people and families who are either vulnerable or disabled, remain independent in the home. You will be instrumental in implementation of the Councils Housing Assistance policy which offers a range of new and improved grants which promote independence and wellbeing. You will be a great communicator with excellent customer care skills.
Leading a team who will process grant applications and liaise with customers, you will assist in the management the Disabled Facilities Grant budget. Taking the lead on strategic and operational initiatives, you will be instrumental in improving our approach to housing adaptions. The role requires close working with internal and external partners to solve problems and deliver effective solutions that meet needs and ensure value for money.
The post holder will have responsibility to maintain and develop a rigorous performance management framework to monitor application, works delivery, ensure contractors are working to a high standard, resolving complaints, and ensuring that clients are fully informed about likely timescales for works to be completed as well as being satisfied by the service offered.
Another key objective will be to manage the full range of activity involved in bringing empty privately owned homes back into use. The role requires the applicant to be able to agile and respond to changing demands and priorities, and to have a good understanding of the range of incentives and enforcement powers that apply to empty properties.
Above all you will be looking to ensure we engage with our customers to ensure they are at the heart of everything we do.
Applicants should be flexible and organised with the ability to work accurately whilst working to deadlines.
A degree or relevant professional qualification is essential.
The ideal candidate will have an environmental health, private sector housing or building surveying background with an excellent working knowledge of the Disabled Facilities Grants. Previous experience is essential for this role.
Redbridge operates flexible working.
