Do you want a fresh challenge every day?
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior / Environmental Health Officer to work in our dynamic environmental health team. This exciting and stimulating role encompasses a variety of environmental health work including:
- Proactive and reactive inspections for food hygiene and health & safety in a wide variety of businesses
- Safety and noise controls at events
- Investigation of food poisoning and infectious diseases
- Inspection of beauty treatments premises
- Private sector housing and statutory nuisance complaints
- Supporting officers in other areas such as enviro-crime and public health
If you are already a generic EHO, or in a specialist role and want to broaden your horizons, then this could be exactly what you are looking for.
With a BSc in Environmental Health or equivalent, you will ideally also have at least 1 years’ experience of working in an environmental health role. However, applications from newly qualified officers will also be considered. Knowledge of current food hygiene legislation and supporting guidance is essential, even if you are not currently a food competent Officer.
