We are looking for an experienced Pollution Control Manager to lead our busy Pollution Control Team and provide a high standard of professional advice and support to ensure compliance with legislation, professional codes of practice and local policy.
The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of relevant environmental legislation and its enforcement. They will have experience and knowledge of commenting on planning applications, statutory nuisance, air pollution (LAQM), contaminated land, environmental permitting and other related environmental protection issues.
We are seeking someone who has experience and knowledge across the environmental protection field, however the ability to respond to complex planning applications is essential. The role will also include line managing, supporting, and developing colleagues in the team.
You must possess excellent communication skills, be able to collect, analyse and interpret complex data, and have experience of dealing with a variety of customers, partners and elected members. You will also be required to demonstrate an ability to manage competing priorities and remain calm under pressure. You will have good IT skills and the ability to use relevant specialist software.
Due to the nature of the role, a full driving license is essential.
