Environmental Protection Officer

Salary: £28,023 - £42,107 plus an essential car user allowance of up to £1,338

Within this role, you’ll have responsibility for a varied caseload covering all aspects of environmental protection including the investigation of complaints using statutory nuisance and anti-social behaviour legislation.

Ideally, you will have experience or qualifications in one or more of the following areas: Acoustics, Contaminated Land, and/or Air Quality. However, for the right candidate who is willing to commit with enthusiasm to taking on one of these areas, training will be available.

As a committed team player, you’ll need good written and verbal communication skills and you’ll be confident in dealing with the public and providing a high-quality customer service. You’ll also be comfortable meeting deadlines with a high level of accuracy.

This is a career-graded role. In order to access the top of the pay scale you will need to be an experienced Environmental Protection Officer with expertise in one of the specialisms above or an Environmental Health Officer with several years post qualification experience.

This role will be based at our Council Offices, Argyle Road, Sevenoaks Kent TN13 1HG. We currently operate a hybrid working model for the majority of our roles where your working time will be divided between the office (2-3 days) and home working (2-3 days).
