About us
The Regulatory Design and Governance team plays a pivotal role in protecting the environments and safety of people and places. We shape regulation for the widest range of industries, across the full life cycle of products – from production to disposal – and our work makes a vital contribution to consumers across the UK.
About the role
As the Senior Regulatory Advisor, you’ll play a key role in the vital work we do. Using critical analysis to shape, influence and develop new regulatory roles, powers and supporting legislation, you’ll provide ministerial advice to Department for Business and Trade Ministers.
You’ll provide policy and analytical support to colleagues, working collaboratively across government to contribute to the continuous improvement of your team’s effectiveness. You’ll take a pragmatic, structured approach to problem solving, playing an active role in supporting cross-office initiatives, and working to develop and improve our analysis of regulatory tools, powers and strategy.
About you
An established professional with a collaborative, productive and analytical approach to working, you’ll have the ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships with a broad range of partners. With programme management skills, the demonstratable ability to critically assess regulatory powers, interpret relevant legislation and structure and present problems, you’ll be capable of explaining complex issues clearly.
On a personal level, you’ll have excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills. You’ll work collaboratively with the widest range of colleagues and organisations, prioritising the continuous improvement of the service. You may have experience of leading meetings and running workshops. This is a fantastic opportunity to get involved in the vital work we do, and to supercharge your career in the process.
