Our client in West of England is recruiting for a Private Sector Housing Officer with Disability Grants Experience to start to work with all sectors of the community and with internal and external partners, to maintain and improve the quality and safety of residential properties, including residential mobile home sites and HMO licensing.
You will also provide the technical role in ensuring an effective and efficient Disabled Facilities Grants service and in supporting vulnerable homeowners to carry out essential repairs to their homes.
To be considered you need to be able to demonstrate a sound building-related background and knowledge.
Duties:
- The investigation of complaints relating to residential accommodation including mobile home sites.
- To respond appropriately to requests for service in accordance with 00
- The inspection of private sector housing, including houses in multiple occupation, in order to undertake risk assessments based on the Housing Health and Safety Rating System and other appropriate standards in order to establish the most satisfactory course of action in respect of enforcement.
- The preparation and enforcement of statutory notices taking any action appropriate.
- The monitoring of works being undertaken as a result of legal action
Requirements:
Experience of undertaking housing inspections using the Housing Health and Safety Rating System.
Experience of preparing statutory notices and schedules of work
Experience of pursuing enforcement, including through prosecution
Qualifications:
Degree in Environmental Health or Public Health, HNC Construction, or equivalent
Certificate of Competence in applying the HHSRS
