Salary Range: £47,394 £54,222 (R&R Package for fully qualified and Registered Environmental Health Practitioners includes 7% salary enhancement, monthly travel card allowance, £2000 new employee payment)
Work Location: 5 Pancras Square, London, N1C 4AG.
Contract type: Permanent/ Full Time

This is an exciting opportunity for a driven and committed individual to lead and develop Camden’s busy Noise and Pollution team to drive forwards Camden’s aspiration to protect citizens from the negative impacts of nuisance and pollution.
What You’ll Be Doing
We are seeking an experienced, fully qualified environmental health professional to join our dynamic Public Protection service. You will lead and develop the pollution team to ensure the provision of a responsive, outcome focused and cost-effective service delivering the full range of noise, nuisance, and pollution functions.
You will have responsibility for day-to-day people and performance management, work allocation, service planning, performance reporting and service improvement. Your responsibilities will also include oversight of the delivery of outsourced elements of the service which at present include contaminated land, environmental permitting out of hours noise response. In addition, you will provide resilience for the wider ambitions of the Public Protection service to respond flexibly to deliver a broad range of environmental health and public health functions as required.

All About you
You will be an outstanding Environmental Health professional with extensive experience in managing pollution services. You will hold relevant specialist qualifications (BSc/MSc or Diploma in Environmental Health and the EHRB Certificate of Registration or equivalent relevant qualifications and experience) and be competent in the full range of noise, nuisance and pollution requirements. You will have experience in managing teams including people and performance management, data and reporting, service planning, service improvement, delivering outcomes for citizens.
Alongside excellent people management and service development skills and experience you will have a broad range of knowledge on all aspects of pollution including but not limited to statutory and non-statutory nuisances, construction, planning, licensing, contaminated land, and environmental permitting.
You will be flexible and collaborative in your approach to work, as well as bringing a track record of good outcome focussed customer care. You’ll have excellent communication skills and be innovative and creative in delivering Camden’s objectives.
