Contract - Permanent

Hours - 37hrs

Salary - NJC Grade E SCP 12-17 £26,421 - £28,770 per annum

We want the right people to join our busy Public Protection Team and make a real difference to the lives of residents and visitors. The Council are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Public Protection Technician working within our Food Control Team.

With a wide range of food businesses within the Town, this is the perfect Career opportunity for the candidate to gain valuable experience in a range of enforcement actions, and enhance your professional and personal development. You will receive support, training and supervision as required. 

You will need to be enthusiastic, motivated and diligent. You will be responsible for carrying out food hygiene and food standards inspections, communicable disease control, and complaint investigations. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and be a great team player. You will need a full UK driving license and access to a car while at work.

The suitable candidate should have obtained a degree or diploma in environmental health, or a Higher Certificate in Food Premises Inspection, or be working towards obtaining such a qualification. The candidate should ideally have recent experience in food law enforcement.
