Salary - NJC Grade H3 £44,428 - £48,474 per annum

The Public Protection Team is paramount to the towns success and plays a vital role in ensuring the Health and Safety of all our communities, visitors and guests. Blackpool is on an exciting journey with millions of pounds worth of investment into our town centre and promenade.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, suitably qualified Environmental Health Practitioner (EHP) to manage one of our Public Protection Teams.
The successful candidate will be the Environmental Protection Manager that sits within the wider Public Protection team, with a willing attitude who can support a culture of challenge, ownership, innovation, and improvement.
You will have excellent knowledge in 3 specialist areas as below. You will be resilient with the ability to adapt to the diverse role and functions you will lead on. In return the role is an exciting opportunity supporting the management of the team and will be influential in delivering Environmental Protection in Blackpool.
- Licensing including premises licences, animal welfare and public health
- Environmental Protection
- Pollution Prevention and Control
You will have significant post qualification experience in UK Environmental Health inspection and enforcement, and be an excellent communicator and be able to effectively supervise, support, motivate and inspire a team as well as manage your own workload to deadline.
Key duties for the role are to act as a subject lead and provide advice, interpretation, guidance, on environmental protection and to disseminate this information to staff and members, and to oversee the day to day delivery of the animal enforcement team alongside the environmental protection team. You will work alongside the other public protection manager to deliver a safe, legal and high quality public protection service.
You must have a full driving licence.
