Are you passionate and committed to improving the quality and safety of housing? Are looking for an exciting opportunity for career development in a supervisory role, where you will be encouraged to use your initiative to shape and improve service delivery?

If you are an environmental health or housing professional, educated to degree level or equivalent within relevant professional or technical area then we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team.

Working within our busy Housing Regulation Team you will be given a varied and challenging case load which you will be expected to manage with limited supervision. You will be required to tenaciously pursue investigations involving ‘rogue landlords’, taking enforcement action where appropriate. You will also be encouraged to develop your own pro-active interventions to support local landlords and tenants to comply with their obligations and understand their legal rights.

The successful candidate will have a degree in environmental health or housing; or equivalent qualifications or experience. They will have some experience of working in an environmental health or housing field and an understanding of HHSRS and HMO and Selective Licensing processes; though applications from newly qualified or less experienced candidates are also welcome. Most importantly the candidate will be enthusiastic, highly inquisitive and have a passion for protecting the public and improving housing standards.

Alongside a competitive salary, we provide:
