About the role:
You will lead the Commercial Environmental Services team playing a key role in shaping and delivering our exciting agenda. You will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and management of the Commercial Environmental Health team, who are primarily responsible for food safety and workplace safety.
In this role, we are seeking a leader who will be focused on developing and motivating staff, creating a positive can-do culture, and ensuring we put the customer at the centre of our services.
What you will need:
We have a friendly, experienced team and are looking for a passionate and experienced Officer with excellent communication skills. We welcome applications from existing managers looking for a change in direction or candidates with supervisory experience looking to develop into a managerial role.
Applicants must also hold an Environmental Health Registration Board certificate (EHRB certificate) or be a Registered or Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner as defined by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health registration pathways as an essential requirement.
West Suffolk Council operate a tablet-based inspection system for food hygiene inspections, for which training will be provided. Site visits are required in a large rural area and so the suitable candidate will need to hold a current driving licence and/or have the ability to travel around West Suffolk.
