East Suffolk Council is an exciting place to work, delivering essential local services and making a real difference to a quarter of a million people across East Suffolk.
We currently have an opportunity to join East Suffolk Council's Private Sector Housing Team as an Operational Lead.
Your role
East Suffolk Council has a pioneering approach to Private Sector Housing (PSH) and is developing inspirational approaches to delivering services across all areas of operations, working with a wide range of partners to deliver shared ambitions.
The team leads on Suffolk wide initiatives for all the Suffolk Councils, including Safe Suffolk Renters, a 2-year Government funded pathfinder project, Suffolk Warm Homes Healthy People and the Stepping Home from Hospital programme.
What you will need
We are looking for a highly motivated and dedicated individual to be an operational lead and provide support to the Strategic Lead for PSH.
Our team needs an individual with a positive outlook; who relishes challenge; can be an inspirational lead; is highly organised and not afraid of multi-tasking.
You will need to be able to communicate with people from all backgrounds and a range of organisations, being empathetic but clear in your objectives; and demonstrate you share our team commitment to make a positive difference to housing conditions.
As well as having responsibility for monitoring and delivering day-to-day team services you will also be responsible for developing services linked to a new licensing regime (caravans and camping, as well as HMOs), the improvement and refurbishment of the Council owned traveller site, deliver the empty home programme and develop plans for Sizewell C housing project.
You will be a key member of the Private Sector Housing Management Team and assume responsibility for delivering the service and cooperating with all other team members to deliver Team objectives.
We need an experienced manager who cares, has excellent communication skills and a genuine desire to help the more vulnerable members of our community through motivating and inspiring the team.
