Public Safety and Protection Officer
(Environmental Health Practitioner – Air Quality & Environmental Protection Specialist)
Scale S03, £37,336 to £42,403 per annum.
We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to work for Stockport Metropolitan Council and are seeking to recruit a highly experienced officer to lead on air quality and environmental pollution regulation across Stockport.
The successful applicant will have responsibility for air quality regulatory duties within the authority, including overseeing the monitoring regime, delivering an IPPC programme and providing specialist advice in relation to Planning and licensing applications in respect of air quality, noise and other environmental pollution investigations and interventions.
The post will also provide professional and technical support to a team of enforcement officers dealing with nuisance and other environmental pollution investigations within our Neighbourhoods.
You must hold a relevant qualification such as a Diploma/BSc/MSc in Environmental Health, or equivalent with extensive relevant experience. Candidates must be registered either with the CIEH Environmental Health Practitioner Registration Scheme or via EHRB. Exceptional newly qualified officers may be considered for the role.
The post is permanent and full time (37 hrs/week) plus essential / casual car user allowance is payable subject to minimum business mileage criteria.
