Environmental Health
Salary Grade 8 i.e. £36,648 - £40,221 per annum)
Full Time, 37 hours per week
Bassetlaw District Council lies in North Nottinghamshire. The most populated areas are Worksop and Retford, where approximately 60% of residents live, the remainder of the district is 73 villages. The rural communities are very diverse ranging from small market towns and former mining communities, to very small hamlets. The A1/A1M runs the length of the district and provides good transport links.
We are looking for an Environmental Health Officer to join our small, but busy Neighbourhoods team. The role involves carrying out a range of Environmental Health duties including investigating statutory nuisance, environmental crime, public health funerals, fly tipping, drainage, and filthy & verminous premises. In addition, carrying out enforcement where necessary. The role also involves the supervision of a Technical Officer who you will work alongside.
The right candidate will be a self-motivated team player with the ability to prioritise and manage their own workload, have good communication skills, and be able to keep accurate records.
The post holder will need to have full driving licence and their own vehicle as travelling around the district is a requirement of the post.
For an informal discussion please contact Julian Proudman Neighbourhoods Team Leader on 01909 533533 or Julian.proudman@bassetlaw.gov.uk.
We will value your contributions, give you access to a free healthcare cash plan and benefits, offer a very generous 26-32 days holiday package (rising incrementally each year) plus public/bank holidays, and give you the option to purchase additional annual leave tax-free. We will double your monthly pension contributions and provide the option to join our shared cost AVC scheme, offer discounted car parking of around £4 per month, and family friendly policies. All new employees will be able to choose a welcome gift from the following options; 4 months free BPL gym membership, 1 year National Trust membership and many more options. We also offer hybrid working arrangements of partial home/office working.
We value the diversity of our people and actively encourage applications from all sections of the community. We maintain fair and well thought out recruitment processes at every stage to make sure that everyone is treated equally.
To apply, please visit www.bassetlaw.gov.uk/jobs-and-careers or telephone the HR Team on (01909) 533121.
