One of our Essex-based local authority clients is looking for a Private Sector Housing Officer / EHO to join their tight-knitted Housing Standard team to help them tackle their HMO backlog and assist them with Highrise inspections

Position: Private Sector Housing Officer / Environmental Health Officer
Contract Duration: 3 months (with potential for extension)
Working Arrangement: Hybrid (remote and on-site)
Employment Type: Full-time / Part-time (22 hours per week)

Responsibilities:

  • HHSRS
  • HMOs
  • Housing Enforcements
  • High rise 

Requirements:

  • HHSRS certificate.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role within a local authority.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of HHSRS and the Housing Act 2004.
  • Experience with Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMO) is essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload efficiently.
  • Experience with Highrise inspections is essential

Start Date: July 2023
Rates: £40 - £48 per hour (umbrella)
