Principal Officer – Community Enforcement
HO3 (£39,493 - £41,496 plus pay award pending) plus essential car user allowance
We are looking to recruit a dynamic and competent person to join our Environmental Services team as a Principal Officer for Community Enforcement. The successful person will manage and coordinate all activities around antisocial behaviour, the serious violence duty, counter terrorism and the Community Safety Partnership. They will be responsible for leading a team of people within the Community Enforcement section. They will lead on activities around Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) enforcement, dog related offences, illegal encampments, rough sleeping and beggars. They will also lead in safeguarding some of the most vulnerable in our communities.
The successful person will need detailed knowledge of community safety and antisocial behaviour legislation and the available enforcement options, as they will have responsibility for ensuring Fylde Council meets all its legal obligations. Excellent communication and organisational skills will be crucial, as the successful person will be expected to represent Fylde Council at high level, and write and implement policies. They must be motivated and enthusiastic and ready for a challenge.

Technical Enforcement Officer (Commercial)
Scale 5/6/S01 £24,496 - £32,020 plus pay award pending (with bars at Scale Point 17 and 22 subject to qualifications, experience and competencies) plus essential car user allowance
We are also looking to recruit a Technical Enforcement Officer within our Environmental Services team. This person will work with officers in our busy Commercial section to ensure our businesses are complying with food and health & safety legislation through inspection, accident and complaint investigation, sampling, advice and enforcement. They will also protect our communities by reducing the risk of injury, harm and nuisance to our residents and visitors.
The successful person must be motivated, professional and enthusiastic, with a willingness to learn and work flexibly to get the job done. The successful person will ideally have food and/or health and safety qualifications such as the NEBOSH diploma, the Higher Certificate in Food Control or an Environmental Health degree.
Applications are invited from those who have recently graduated in Environmental Health and who are looking to qualify soon, as this would be the perfect opportunity to gain valuable experience in a range of interventions and enforcement actions. Support, training and supervision will be provided where needed.
