Merton, Wandsworth and Richmond have joined forces to become a unique environmental health service known as the Regulatory Services Partnership (RSP). This makes us one of the largest Environmental Health Services in London with a diverse character and a variety of high profile and interesting venues, including Wimbledon Tennis, AFC Wimbledon, Twickenham Rugby, Battersea Power Station, New Covent Garden and Hampton Court Flower Show.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for two keen and enthusiastic officers to join the Pollution(Noise & Nuisance) team in the Regulatory Services Partnership (fixed term for 6 and 18 months).
In order to be considered you must have extensive knowledge and experience of responding to statutory nuisance complaints under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and dealing with construction sites under the Control of Pollution Act 1974. The roles will require you to investigate more complex noise cases and review technical reports for planning and licensing applications.
Successful candidates will possess good verbal and written communication skills, be self-motivated with a demonstrable commitment to meeting given targets and the needs of the Regulatory Services Partnership. This is an exceptional opportunity to be part of a varied and forward-thinking shared service with enthusiastic and supportive colleagues, and to develop your existing skills. Good ICT skills are also crucial to this role and it's important that you can write reports and letters. The ability to work well as part of a team as well as on your own initiative is essential.
The posts are based in our Merton and Wandsworth offices.
A full driving licence is essential.
These are demanding roles, and the successful candidates will be well organised and able to work flexibly. Good interpersonal and organisational skills are essential.
We are committed to:
- promoting equality of opportunity and social inclusion
- eliminating unlawful discrimination
- promoting good relations between employees and communities of all backgrounds.
