Salary: £34723 - £41496 per year (progression scheme)

About the role:

Our department are looking for someone who is able to work collaboratively with planning, transport, environmental health, public health and investigations teams to address noise related issues.

You will be required to provide professional and technical advice on noise matters, including reviewing and responding to planning application, supporting and advising investigations officers on complex noise matters and carrying out complex technical investigations.   You will also contribute to corporate–wide projects, policies and strategies to tackle noise.

Knowledge of provisions relating to permitted installation and other relevant Environmental Protection issues would be of benefit in the role.

About you:

We are looking for someone who is able to undertake detailed review and response to planning applications, complex investigations, identifying service improvements evaluating and interpreting legislation, statutory codes and data relating to the activity of the team, monitoring impact of projects and applying outcomes.

You’ll have the opportunity to develop on your existing skills by managing and prioritising your own work to meet targets and deadlines.

We do ask that you have an Institute of Acoustics: Diploma in Acoustics & Noise Control and Certificate of Environmental Noise measurement and/or relevant qualification or relevant verifiable experience.

Applicants for this role will need to be able to able to travel to sites throughout the Borough for inspections and investigations on a daily basis, including transport of equipment. Able to adopt agile working arrangements, to transport equipment to and from site visits on a daily basis and work some evenings and weekends as required.
