Private Sector Housing Team Leader

Our client in South East England is recruiting for a Private Sector Housing Team Leader to line manage the Private Sector Housing team, undertaking performance management activities, such as 1‐1s and performance appraisals.

You will also be required to investigate complaints and undertake inspections of House in Multiple Occupations (HMOs), and private sector dwellings and take action to ensure the health and safety of the occupants and that homes are well-managed, interpreting guidance relating to the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS), its implementation and enforcement.

Requirements:

• Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in Environmental Health or Housing related subject.

• A minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience in private sector renewal and housing enforcement (including accredited training in HHSRS and enforcement) and HMOs.

• Experience in the licensing of mobile home sites.

• Detailed knowledge of relevant legislation, procedures, and best practice.

• Ability to work well as part of a team, but also to be self‐motivated. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and exercise critical judgment in all circumstances.
