We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Environmental Health Practitioner to join our busy professional Trading Standards and Environmental Compliance team.
It is an exciting time to be working in Solihull! Building on our successful involvement in the Homes for Ukraine programme and hosting of the 2022 Commonwealth Games, we now prepare for the arrival of HS2; and with the National Exhibition Centre and Birmingham Airport also in our borough there is a lot to be involved in
As an Environmental Health Practitioner, we are offering a unique opportunity to work across our socially and economically diverse Borough, delivering the full range of regulatory duties through a wide range of Environmental Health issues: from housing to nuisance, houses in multiple occupation (H.M.O.s) to environmental crime.
To be successful in this role you will hold a relevant Environmental Health qualification and have experience in providing advice and guidance on regulatory and enforcement issues as well as proven knowledge of legal processes and effective evidence gathering.
Knowledge and experience in the field of nuisance would be an advantage.
We know that our employees want to do more than just work, and so we encourage good work-life balance by offering a range of flexible working options; this is further supplemented by an extensive wellbeing offer, as well as a range of other benefits including staff discounts and access to the Local Government Pension Scheme.
We have implemented a hybrid working model which involves a balance between home working and time in the office. This role is based in Solihull Town Centre and there will be occasions when you will be required to work and attend meetings within the borough or at other locations across the West Midlands region.
If you want to join a Council that is small enough to care and big enough to make a difference, then we are interested in hearing more from you.
