We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Environmental Health Officer to join our busy and enthusiastic Environmental Safety and Health team. The role involves carrying out a range of Environmental Health duties relating to pollution control, statutory nuisances from commercial and industrial premises, domestic smoke control, air quality and health and safety at work. The team are also consultees for planning applications and under the Licensing Act 2003.

Animal health and welfare work is also undertaken by the team and there will be the opportunity to develop your knowledge in this area of work.

The successful candidate will be a self-motivated team player with the ability to prioritise their own workload, have good communication skills and the ability to keep accurate records. A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle will be necessary as travelling around the Borough is a requirement of the post.

We offer flexible working arrangements and a generous leave entitlement of 30 days rising to 34 days with 5 years continuous service.

Officers are encouraged and provided with support to achieve CPD requirements.
