Salary: £28,900 - £41,496 a year and additional £2600 Market Factor Supplement for M1-M2 Grade

Contract type: Maternity Cover – Up to 12 Months

About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity in the Commercial Regulatory Services team, where you will carry out routine inspections of food premises, respond to food and health and safety service requests and where relevant, take appropriate enforcement action to ensure public safety.

The position is available for experienced local authority officers or food safety professionals from the private sector. Applicants from recently qualified officers with relevant food safety experience will be considered.

About you:

This is a public facing role so you will need to show off your fluency in speaking and writing. You will be passionate about environmental health and making a positive difference.

You must have demonstrable experience of securing or improving compliance with health and safety, food safety legislation. You must be able to demonstrate knowledge of environmental health legislation, topical issues and priorities and strategies to secure compliance.

You must possess one of the following:

Higher Certificate in Food Premises Inspection (awaiting professional assessment pass) or a Degree, Diploma or MSc in Environmental Health.
