Hours: 22.12 hours per week
Location: Keynsham, Bristol
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and energetic professional to join our busy Environmental Protection Team. To work full days on Thursday and Friday with flexible working patterns to be agreed for the remaining hours.
You will have a degree or master's in Environmental Health and this is a post you can apply for whether you are a recent graduate or have a few years of environmental health experience and are looking for a new career opportunity.
We are a progressive and professional team of officers who work tirelessly to improve people’s lives. The officer will work as part of the team to deal with the full range of environmental protection work that you would expect to find in a unitary authority including statutory nuisance investigations, commenting on licensing and planning consultations, community protection and dealing with unauthorised encampments.
This position allows the post holder flexibility with the ability to work from home, from the office for meetings and discussions as well as being out and about, working on the job. This role will require to work from time to time in the evenings, at weekends and on public holidays for the Council to provide a comprehensive service
You will be an excellent communicator and negotiator with a natural empathy in dealing with all kinds of people. Being IT literate, you will have the ability to work independently and to deadlines, as well as having a working knowledge of Environmental Protection legislation. Above all, you will display the essential attitude to get things done.

Your main place of work will be the award-winning, modern Civic Centre in Keynsham, halfway between Bath and Bristol, easily accessible via car or public transport, with a train station 5 minutes walk away.
