Are you passionate about Environmental Health?
Do you want to make a difference to people's lives?
Have you got the ambition, knowledge and experience we are looking for?
If yes, we would like to hear from you.
About the roles:
We are looking for enthusiastic officers to join our newly restructured Environmental Protection and Housing team. The roles on offer are varied and will involve delivering a range of statutory environmental functions across West Lancashire, including complaint investigations, planning and licensing consultations, air quality management duties, environmental permitting, contaminated land assessments, public health funerals and filthy and verminous premises.
The roles offer a varied workload, flexible working arrangements, a generous essential car user scheme and opportunities to develop within the profession.
The roles will appeal to a range of different candidates including graduates of the environmental health degree and candidates with a strong environmental protection background looking to expand into the field of regulation.
About you:
You will be a highly motivated team player with an eye for detail and a sound knowledge of environmental protection legislation and associated guidance. You will have initiative, good judgement and be committed to excellent customer service. You should be able to use your own initiative, be an excellent communicator and a good team player. You should possess a Degree in Environmental Health or equivalent degree with relevant experience in the environmental protection field.
About us:
West Lancashire Borough Council covers a diverse area made up of both rural and urban environments. The borough is well connected and an attractive part of Lancashire. If you're ambitious and passionate, are driven to deliver, and want to be part of our team, we welcome your application.
For an informal chat about the role, please contact Carol Pollitt, Principal Environmental Health Officer on 01695 583250.
