Are you an Environmental Protection Officer looking for a better work/life balance?
Location: Berkshire
Salary: £38- £40 per hour
Contract Length: 6 months (initial)
Our client is seeking an experienced Environmental Protection Officer to join their team on an initial 6-month contract basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for an organisation that is dedicated to protecting the environment in Berkshire.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigating nuisance complaints and enforcing environmental protection legislation
- Commenting on planning applications to ensure they comply with environmental regulations
- Conducting site visits and assessments to identify potential environmental issues
- Liaising with other departments, agencies and external bodies to resolve environmental issues
- Maintaining accurate records and producing reports as required
- Providing expert advice and guidance to colleagues, members of the public and other stakeholders on environmental protection matters
Requirements:
- Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in environmental science, environmental health or related field
- Proven experience working in a similar role, with a sound knowledge of environmental protection legislation and policies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with colleagues, members of the public and external stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload
This role will require you to go on district to carry out investigations, however the client can be flexible in terms of working arrangements. In return, our client is offering a competitive hourly rate of £38-£40 (DOE), with an initial contract length of 6 months.
