Environmental Health Officer – Food, Health and Safety (Ref: MDC8655)

Salary: £26204 - £29,789 for 29 hours, which includes a £2,573 per annum market supplement which will be reviewed on an annual basis.

We are excited to recruit an experienced Environmental Health Officer to join our food and health and safety team.  This is a 29-hour contract to be worked generally Monday to Friday with some ad hoc weekend work.

All applicants must hold a Degree in Environmental Health or a Diploma in Environmental Health that is recognised by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.  Applicants must also hold an Environmental Health Registration Board certificate (EHRB certificate) or be a Registered or Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner as defined by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health registration pathways as an essential requirement.

Work areas include food safety, licensing activities, health and safety, infectious disease control and public health work, which involves attending community events.

We are a small team and take pride in the work we deliver. The successful candidate will be qualified within environmental health and be driven to assist the team in delivering an excellent service within our communities.

You should possess excellent communication skills and have experience in managing a busy caseload with a strong track record of performance. The ability to offer accurate, concise technical advice is essential.

The successful candidate will be able to work on their own initiative and have excellent organisational skills we offer hybrid working with attendance in the office, normally 2 days a week
