Job Details

Our client has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Logistics Health and Safety Manager to join them in their highly automated, one million square foot Distribution Centre in Wiltshire. You will be responsible for advising on health and safety management for both Warehouse and Transport functions, and report to the Environmental Health Manager.

They are looking for someone with enthusiasm and a positive attitude who will drive improvement. You will be an excellent communicator and able to engage stakeholders to work collaboratively in reviewing and developing preventative measures to manage health and safety proactively.
Within this role you will be asked to ensure health and safety management is effective, complies with and meets statutory obligations in all areas of health, safety and welfare at work; support and review risk assessments; coordinate the development of tailored health and safety policies, safe systems of work and procedures and respond to and deal with enforcement interventions.

To be successful with this application it is crucial that you have a NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent), significant and recent health and safety management experience specific to logistics and a demonstrable record of improving performance, productivity and service delivery within the sector. They are looking for you to demonstrate specific examples of successes in a leadership position.

If successful you will be offered a permanent role paying £45,000 - £55,000 per annum and a benefits package that includes a company car (or £5k car allowance), 5.6 weeks paid holiday per year including bank and public holidays; rising to 6.6 weeks upon 5 years' service and a Contributable Company pension scheme. You are also entitled to 10% discount in store.

The role is typically a 9-5, 37.5hr work pattern with occasional requirement to work outside office hours for which you will be offered leave in lieu. It is possible to carry out some of the role from home but given the specific nature of the operation you will mostly be expected to work on site. On occasion you may visit other sites across the UK (mileage and expenses paid). You may also be required to visit the Head Office near Liverpool and will have the opportunity to take the company helicopter!

This is a great opportunity to work for one of the UK's premier retail and logistics companies, working from a fantastic facility in a beautiful area of England. Contact us now to register your interest.
