One of our Cambridgeshire-based local authorty clients are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Private Sector Housing Officer. Successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking inspections, assessments, and enforcement action relating to housing conditions, HMOs, and the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS).
You will be responsible to:

Undertake HHSRS inspections.

Use HHSRS to assess hazards in properties, and make recommendations for enforcement action where necessary.

Investigate complaints about housing conditions and take appropriate enforcement action.

Maintain accurate records of inspections, investigations, and enforcement action taken.

Provide advice and guidance to landlords, tenants, and other stakeholders on housing regulations and standards.

Attend court and give evidence in cases relating to housing conditions and enforcement action.
Requirements:

Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role.

Knowledge and understanding of HHSRS, housing enforcement, and HMOs.

Ability to work independently and manage a caseload.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Full UK driving license
