Job Details

Our client, based in Central London are looking for a Corporate Health and Safety Manager to work a fixed term contract for 14 months to cover maternity leave.  You will be asked to support the senior colleagues to lead on the development of the health and safety agenda for Trust, including supporting the completion of risk assessments, delivering competent advice, training staff and managing a Trust Health and Safety Risk Register.

You will be ask to provide training, management, leadership and support to all Trust staff in Health and Safety to ensure the organisation maintains an effective and pro-active health and safety management culture.  To work alongside the senior colleagues to develop and maintain robust systems, including policies, procedures and risk assessments and to ensure that the Trust is compliant with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.

You will be required to undertake regular site inspections and audits in order to develop and monitor the implementation of action plans necessary to mitigate identified risks, escalating areas of concern in line with the Risk Management Policy for the Trust.

Together with senior colleagues, to oversee the provision of professional expertise, advice and guidance on all matters relating to Health and Safety and act as the nominated “competent person” for the Trust on all aspects of Health and Safety.

Experience in auditing will be crucial for this assignment as you will also be needed to support divisional safety managers with their auditing programme and as mentioned,  it will include physical audits of a range of health care settings across the Trust. Equally you may also be required to support our risk assessment schedule, including general workplace and hazard specific risk assessments.

To be successful it is crucial that you have experience in corporate health and safety and role a relevant Health and Safety qualification (e.g. BSc Occupational Health & Safety Management or NEBOSH Certificate / Diploma / EHRB) or relevant qualification accompanied by a significant experience of working in a health and safety role

You will be offered a 14 month Fixed Term contract where you will be paying £45,000-£50,000 per annum as well as receiving all the benefits of working a permanent role (annual leave, sick pay, pension etc).  This is a full time role working Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm with flexi-time and hybrid working available.
